EMU International Summer School Students Attended the 5th Alanici Festival

Alanici is a town located near the corner of the Mersaria field, close to the city of Famagusta. They have a festival once every year to celebrate the productivity of the year; because the inhabitants are mostly farmers.

The EMU International Summer School Students graced the 2016 Alanici festival which held on 13^th of July, 2016. The Students participated in a parade with different groups of the town; where they got to the town square center and saw different dance performances by different town groups.

Later on the students moved on to the festival venue where the grand opening and fair was going on. They were displays of different interesting locally made dishes, traditional wears. There were also fun activities to engage in like roller coasters.

In the course of the event the people serve free dishes which included traditional cookies, cheese, muffins and other traditionally prepared pastries. This was followed by a dance presentation which told the story of the Alanici people and their Family history- hence the name "Alanici Harvest Festival"
