EMU ISS at the Mehmeticik Festival!

Mehmeticik is a remotely native settlement that is about 30 km away from the city of Famagusta. The popular summer festival attributed to this welcoming community is the Grape festival.

This year's Mehmeticik Festival was on Tuesday 8th August 2017 had in attendance large number of participants from the host community and visitors from other parts of the Island. At 22:00 TRT, EMU International Summer School (EMU ISS) participants were at the venue. The event hosted various performers from France, Russia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and TRNC which added a spark to the colorful night.

There were display of locally or hand-made crafts, traditional artifacts, and locally made food items and delicacies. The traditionally-made grape wine-like drink was a delight, the taste left a lasting ecstasy on the taste bud of most participants.

And before the close of the night the EMU ISS participants took to the stage a dance performance which brightened the mood of the festival. Group photographs were taken with event performers, community representatives and visitors.
